Matvey Kostukovsky, piano, was born in Moscow, Russia. He started studying piano and clarinet at the age of seven. After immigrating to the U.S. in 2000 he continued his music education at the Music Institute of Chicago with Abraham Stokman (piano) and Stanley Davis (clarinet). Matvey is a merit scholar at the Music Institute, where he frequently participates in various recitals. he is principal clarinet in the Buffalo Grove high School Symphonic Band, Symphonic Orchestra, and the IMEA District 214 Honors Band. Paul Jansson is a three-time recipient of the Jonathan Venzon Memorial Scholarship at the Music Institute of Chicago, where he studies the cello with Gilda Barston and Richard Hirschl. Paul plays in the Music Institute's cello choir and chamber ensemble. A senior at New Trier High School, he won the New Trier Fine Arts Board scholarship and has received prizes from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music and the Society of American Musicians. Paul is also a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as the American Chamber Strings. His other honors include prizes from the Society of American Musicians and the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music.
