MCA Stage joins the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs in presenting the 12th Annual World Music Festival: Chicago. This multi-venue, one-week festival showcases both traditional and contemporary music from diverse cultures across the world. Pansori Project ZA
Inspired by Bertolt Brecht's A Good Woman of Setzuan, Pansori Project ZA reimagines this epic drama in Pansori Brecht SACHEON-GA. This work endeavors to create a modernized pansori whose narrative style integrates western dramatic elements. Performed mainly by a Sorrikun this genre of Korean traditional music uses humor and satire to translate Brecht's world into contemporary times.

한국의 대표적인 현대 판소리 전문팀인 "판소리 프로젝트 자 " 가 주시카고총영사관과 국제교류재단의 후원으로 시카고시가 주관하는 World Music Festival에서 공연합니다.

판소리 자 팀은 아역스타 예솔이로 유명한 판소리꾼 이자람이 중심이 되어 공연하는 현대판 판소리 공연팀으로서 2007년도에 판소리 브레히트 사천가를 초연한 이후 국내외에서 호평을 받으며 명성을 높이고 있습니다.

특히 2009년 10월 서울아트마켓 Pams choice에 선정되고 2010년 5월 폴란드 콘탁 국제연극제에 공식 초청된데 이어 이번 시카고 월드뮤직페스티벌에 초청되는 등 국제무대에서 그 예술성을 높이 인정받고 있습니다.

판소리 브레이트 사천가는 9.25(토) 오후 7시에 시카고 다운타운 현대미술박물관에서 공연을 가질 예정이며, 9.24(금)에는 시카고 라디오 방송과 인터뷰를 갖습니다.
