Sijo is a Korean classical poetic form
(over 1000 years old).It is like haiku. Three characteristics of Sijo:1. Its basic structure: 3 lines (14 - 16 syllables each line total 44-46 syllables):
line 1 of the 3 line pattern introduces a situation or problem.
line 2 develops or "turns" the idea in a different direction,
and line 3 provides climax and closure. - the first half of the final line employs a "twist"; a surprise of meaning, sound, or other device. 2. musical/rhythmic elements

Pansori Project ZA
Inspired by Bertolt Brecht's A Good Woman of Setzuan, Pansori Project ZA reimagines this epic drama in Pansori Brecht SACHEON-GA. This work endeavors to create a modernized pansori whose narrative style integrates western dramatic elements. Performed mainly by a Sorrikun this genre of Korean traditional music uses humor and satire to translate Brecht's world into contemporary times.

5500 Block of N. Kedzie
The 1st North Park Art Walk will take place October 9 & 10, 2010 from 12pm-6pm in Chicago's newest emerging art zone. Dozens of professional Chicago artists will display their works at galleries and warehouses along the 5500 block of N. Kedzie and in studios and storefronts on the 3200-3300 blocks of N. Bryn Mawr Avenues. An Artist's Opening will take place on Friday evening, October 8th from 5-9pm at the Koh-Varilla Guild, 5518 N. Kedzie.
Over 40 local artists of various medium along with filmmakers will participate in this free event. Families are invited to bring their children to the North Park Art Walk. There will be a children's art project sponsored by Northeastern Illinois University. Documentary film screenings will be held on Saturday October 9th at Northside College Preparatory High School, 5510 N. Kedzie.
